Brian Toomey

Founder, CEO

Brian Toomey

Brian focuses top line on digital and business strategy. With a background in academic psychology and neuroscience, he enjoys the combination of hard and soft data often found in web projects and thinking about the interaction of systems.

He enjoys combining design, data, and business to drive real changes to the bottom line of the businesses he works with. Brian is a gardener and orchardist, a macro photographer, and enjoys foraging for mushrooms after it rains.

Jess Spate, PhD

Jess is the resident implementation specialist. With a PhD in data mining and mathematics, Jess programs in Perl and loves to poke around in data. She also knows enough front-end design to run great split tests. She has close to a decade of experience combining SEO, SEM paid media and conversion testing to drive sales, leads and overall business wins. She is also an expert in Google Analytics and related web metrics tools, and offers training at colleges around the UK in web analytics. An avid outdoor adventurer, when not at work she can be found trekking, climbing or surfing in and around South Wales.

Owen Goode

Owen focuses on business operations and helps explore new opportunities for JBA. A former airline pilot turned software consultant, he’s built multiple companies and has several exits under his belt. As a self-confessed dabbler, tinkerer, and tech nerd, Owen loves finding connections between disparate subjects, integrating systems together, and enabling things that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. He can be found working on his latest home automation project in Houston, TX, where he lives with his wife Elizabeth and their two cats. Nemo and Marlin.

Beatriz Miravete

Bea is a full-stack growth marketer with over a decade of experience building growth engines and teams for startups. She’s obsessed with the union of data and creativity and uses it to amplify digital strategies, funnel optimizations, and integrated campaigns. She believes that growth is built on great product marketing and is just as happy working on GTM strategy and writing messaging as she is with growth. When she’s not wearing her marketing hat, you can find Bea using data to help her improve her cycling gains. She is an avid mountain biker, snowboarder, and golfer.

Ryan Egan

A senior creative with over 15 years of industry experience, Ryan has partnered with companies such as Time Magazine, Credit Karma, Spotify, CNN and Microsoft to bring performance-oriented design and consulting to bear in driving on a wide range of B2B and B2C business initiatives. His work has won Webby and W3 awards, and he volunteers at the aviary department of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in his free time.

Brandon Vehrs

Brandon is a former electrical engineer who specializes in data analysis and site operations at JBA. He has worked on website production, Python and Julia scripts to analyze client data, survey design and analysis for market research, and lots of spreadsheets. When not working, he is an avid cyclist, hiker, gardener and meditator.
